Car Insurance – How to Compare Rates From Multiple Companies Instantly

auto363 » 30 May 2009 » In Infiniti » No Comments

The reason we compare car insurance quotes from multiple car insurance companies is to make sure we‘re getting the best rates possible. Of course nobody wants to pay more money than they have to, but in the other hand we also want to make sure that our car insurance company is going to respond quickly and fairly in case of an accident.

What is unknown to many is that there is not one single car insurance company that is cheaper than others. One particular car insurance company can be the cheapest for one person but the most expensive for another. Each car insurance company has a certain category of drivers they want to insure. If you fit their category they will offer you a cheap rate, if you don’t, they will offer you an expensive rate. That is their way of filtering the people they want and do not want to insure. That is the reason we need to compare insurance rates from multiple car insurance companies, to find out which company will offer us the cheapest rate. The key is to find the company that offers the cheapest rate for you, but of course, it is important to compare rates from quality companies only.

There are many quality car insurance companies out there; however, some of those quality companies also have a high price to go along with them. How do we find a quality company for a cheap price? That, my friend, is the key question.

The traditional method of shopping for car insurance is to call around which we all know can be a long process. Another drawback of shopping for car insurance by phone is the probability of getting caught with the old “bait and hook” trick. That is when someone gives you a low quote by phone and hikes it up on you when you go into their office to purchase the car insurance policy.

In today’s world, luckily, we have the internet. The internet makes life a lot easier for all of us. Using the internet, we can shop for many types of things we may need which include shopping for car insurance.

Shopping for car insurance online is the best way to compare rates from multiple car insurance companies. Online, you can also read about a company’s history and make sure they’re a quality company. Most companies offer instant online car insurance quotes thorough their websites which makes obtaining car insurance quotes a lot easier than the traditional method of shopping by phone. Better yet, there are some websites that offer online car insurance quotes from multiple companies with one simple process. You can even purchase your car insurance online if you like the price. One such website is OnlineAutoInsurance.com. There, you can obtain quotes from quality companies such as Progressive, AIG, Infinity, GMAC, Bristol West, and several more. All with one simple process!

Toyota van service

auto363 » 30 May 2009 » In Toyota » No Comments

Toyota van servicing is now much cheaper, for those in the know.

Thanks to European legislation, you no longer have to be tied to high Toyota van service costs, dictated by your local dealer.

In October 2003 new European legislation affecting the motor industry came into force called “Block Exemption Regulation” 14002002 (BER), and this now means that you can book your next Toyota van service online and save up to 50% on what you might pay at your local Toyota van dealer.

Before the law changed it was difficult to have new vans within their warranty period serviced outside a franchised dealer. If you wanted to shop around for the best prices on Toyota van servicing, your hands were tied.

The change in the law now gives every van owner the freedom to service their van away from the main dealers, and still have their warranty protected.

Thousands of Toyota van owners have now taken advantage of their new right and reduced their Toyota van serving costs, whilst benefiting from the convenience of booking with national car service providers such as Service A Van.

Service A Van is a leading online van servicing network that prides itself on the quality of its Toyota van servicing, their customer service and transparent pricing. Because the company is not tied to any particular van manufacturer, they are able to service any make of vehicle and compete freely in the market, on a like-for-like.

Every vehicle is rigorously serviced according to the manufacturer’s servicing schedule, using genuine recommended parts fitted by qualified technicians. This means that every Toyota van service fulfils the warranty criteria and there is no compromise on the servicing standards of a main dealer.

Companies like Service A Van, who fulfil the warranty criteria when servicing your Toyota, are able to maintain your service book, just as main dealer can – thereby protecting your warranty and helping you to maximise the resale value of your Toyota van.

Of course, booking direct with a national car servicing network has its own advantages:

· You no longer have to do all the running around. Service A Van collects your Toyota in the morning and delivers it back that afternoon, free of charge

· You pay a fixed Toyota service price, which can be up to 50% below the price at the Toyota servicing desk of your local dealer

· No additional work is carried out without your agreement, which means no nasty surprises when it comes to paying the bill

· Trained Customer Advisers are on hand throughout the day to keep you informed of progress, and report back on problems you asked to be investigated as part of your Toyota service e.g. knocks and rattles

· You simply pay with your credit or debit card and your van is delivered back to your home or work address.

Our advice for saving money on Toyota van servicing is to contact a national car servicing network, who is not tied to any one particular van manufacturer, like Service A Van.

So, before you book your next Toyota van service, why not ask your local dealer to tell you the cost of the service (plus parts, oil and any extras) and then compare it with a fixed price quote from a national servicing network, like Service A Van?

Happy motoring,

Howard.

Go Green With Auto Repair!

auto363 » 30 May 2009 » In Auto Repair » No Comments

With so many pollutants and wasted products in the environment today we are seeing more and more companies provide “green” solutions. Many businesses have already gone with a “go green” campaign to help lessen their affects on the environment in a harmful way. With that said auto body repair shops are also joining the “go green” campaign. So, if you are looking for a great auto body shop for your vehicles repairs and you are concerned with the environment, place emphasis on finding a shop that not only provides great results but also is helping the environment while doing so.

First of all you should be familiar with what “green” means. Well to have a “green” products means that it causes little disruptions to the environment it how it is made. Using renewable or recycled materials makes it a little more greener. It also has to do with how many chemicals are released into the environment during the whole process involved in achieving the end result. Simply put the saying “go green” means to become actively interested in environmental issues and support environmental causes. Since we live in our environment and it affects our lives many people, as they should, have become aware of the problems we inflict on our environment and are striving to make a difference in how we do things. We want our earth to be around and in a good state for our children and grandchildren.

Auto body repair shops have the potential to become a “green shop” in communities all around the world. First of all auto repair instead of replacement is great alternative to throwing the old pieces and parts of cars into landfills to sit forever. Many auto body shops have even begun recycling materials used on a day to day basis like card board, paper, and other such materials. Even old windshields can be recycled if there is no way to repair them. Also how they handle any chemicals that they may use and if they contain them so that they are not released into the environment. Also it can go as far down the line as to how they receive and manufacture tools and materials for their business needs.

So, since many people are looking for a “green” change for the environment many businesses are taking the opportunity to help out and “go green”. So, if you want to do your part you can choose to conduct business with those that are making the effort to reduce their affects on the environment in a harmful way. After all, we all want our children to be able to grow up on a great planet with less harmful emissions to the environment.

We have come to the realization that what we have been doing to conduct and run businesses is not good for the environment and in turn not good for us since we live in the environment. So, be part of the change and “go green” with auto body repairs! The environment is in your hands now.

Buy a New Car Online

auto363 » 30 May 2009 » In New Cars » No Comments

Sooner or later everybody has to buy a new car. And chances are you’ve already bought your fair share of new and used cars by now–and you haven’t always gotten the deal you wanted. Even if you think you have, trust me–you haven’t. It doesn’t matter if it’s your fourth new car or your first, it is inevitable. Of course, we all know that there is an art to buying a new car that we should know sooner or later. And the sooner you learn this “art,” the better!

Everyone knows that there are haggling methods to getting a car at a reasonable price. Dealerships and private sellers rarely mark the car’s actual worth. Instead, they mark the price up so that they can clear a good profit for themselves. Some dealerships mark the prices up so that their salesmen will have a greater incentive to sell the cars for them. Now, there’s nothing wrong with any business making a profit. After all, it’s the American Way. But you stand to save thousands if you do a little homework BEFORE car shopping–whether you’re shopping online for a new car or not.

But almost all dealerships can be talked down on their initial prices, if you know how to haggle properly. And haggling is not hard at all–even for super-shy people–if they’re prepared. Preparation is everything. The savvy buyer will know that he can talk the dealership’s prices down at least a little. That’s IF he knows the dealer’s lingo and tricks beforehand and shows that he’s prepared to deal with them. That’s how you want to arrive at the dealership: prepared. I don’t care if you’re the shyest person

in the world, if you’re prepared, you’ll actually look forward to your new car buying experience!

Salesmen speak their own language, and to know when you are being sold on something that you don’t want, you need to know how to speak the same language as the salesmen do.

If you want to save money by negotiating, you should negotiate from the dealer cost up and not from the MSRP down. But you need to remember that the dealer cost is not the same as the factory invoice–the dealer cost is always less than the factory invoice. Go to DealersInvoice.com and figure the dealer cost by subtracting from the dealer’s invoice such things as “dealer’s incentive” and “dealer holdback.” This will give you the dealer’s cost.

Some dealerships refuse to haggle over the cost of a car. But once you make your opening offer you should never accept anything higher than that, as far as costs go. If the dealership that you go to doesn’t haggle, don’t sweat it. Some other dealership will. The reason some dealerships refuse to haggle is because they want to add extra fees to the MSRP. You need to decide what kind of buyer you are in order to get a negotiating stance.

You do not want to set yourself up as a monthly payment buyer because that is a guaranteed way for you to pay more for the car than it’s worth. You can expect them to offer to reduce the price a little from the MSRP. They will then ask you what you are looking to pay each month; this is where they get you to pay extra money. So don’t negotiate from a monthly payment position at all.

The dealer will ask you, “What are you willing to pay each month?” Don’t fall for this trap. Tell them that you want to haggle over the COST of the car, NOT the monthly payments. And be alert for a finance manager trying to get you to report your payment method BEFORE you have decided upon purchasing the car. Don’t be sucked into the trap!

Remember that the method of payment doesn’t matter unless you have decided to actually buy the car. Finance managers ask so that they can do their ‘homework’ on how best to screw you over.

Buying a car doesn’t have to be scary and it doesn’t have to be the worst experience of your life. Many people dread buying a new car because they know that they are likely going to get ripped off. And 9 times out of 10, they’re right. But not you, because now you know about this resource!

Toyota In Cleveland Ohio And The Hybrid System

auto363 » 30 May 2009 » In Toyota » No Comments

A hybrid system combines different power sources to maximize each one’s strengths, while compensating for each other’s shortcomings. A gasoline-electric hybrid system, for example, combines an internal combustion engine’s high-speed power with the clean efficiency and low-speed torque of an electric motor that never needs to be plugged in for recharging.

Toyota is working to not only further enhance the convenience of its vehicles but is also focusing its initiatives on solving global environmental issues through a variety of activities and proposals for realizing sustainable mobility. The development of powertrain technology is the basis for improving the environmental performance of vehicles, and this technology is being developed from three perspectives: 1) improving fuel efficiency in order to reduce CO2 emissions, 2) making exhaust emissions cleaner to help abate atmospheric pollution, and 3) pursuing energy diversification.

Toyota strives, in its move towards energy diversification, to provide the necessary vehicle at the time and place it is needed, i.e. the right vehicle at the right time and in the right place. In addition, Toyota is actively developing hybrid technology to serve as a core technology applicable to all powertrains.

Toyota’s mission has always been to provide clean and safe products. Thus, the company has positioned the environment as one of its most important issues and has been working toward creating a prosperous society and a world that is comfortable to live in. With this goal in mind, Toyota has been actively developing various new technologies from the perspective of achieving energy security and diversifying energy sources, which is necessitated by the dwindling supply of petroleum resources.

For example, in motive power sources for automobiles alone, we have been continuously improving conventional engines and have developed and commercialized lean-burn gasoline engines, direct injection gasoline engines and common rail direct-injection diesel engines, etc. We have also been modifying engines so that they can use alternative fuels, such as compressed natural gas (CNG), instead of gasoline or light oil, and have been installing these engines in commercially sold vehicles.

Toyota has also developed and has been marketing electric vehicles (EV) that use motors for the driving source; hybrid vehicles (HV) that combine an engine and a motor, fusing the advantages of these two power sources; fuel cell hybrid vehicles (FCHV) that use fuel cells (FC) to generate electricity based on a chemical reaction between hydrogen and the oxygen in the air and that supply this electricity to electric motors to produce driving power.

In January 1997, Toyota declared the start of the Toyota Eco Project. As part of this effort, Toyota decided to tackle the international challenge of reducing CO2 emissions in order to prevent global warming and accelerated the development of a hybrid vehicle with the goal of achieving twice the fuel efficiency of conventional vehicles. Then, in March of the same year, Toyota announced the completion of a new power train called the Toyota Hybrid System (THS) for use in passenger vehicles.

This power train combines a gasoline engine and an electric motor, and because it does not require external charging, as do existing electric vehicles, it works within existing infrastructures such as fueling facilities. This system also achieves nearly twice the fuel efficiency of conventional gasoline engines.

THS was installed in the passenger vehicle Prius, which was introduced in December 1997 in the Japanese market as the first mass-produced hybrid passenger vehicle in the world. In 2000, overseas marketing of the Prius began. The Prius has gained a reputation as a highly innovative vehicle, and its cumulative worldwide sales have exceeded 110,000 units.

Meanwhile, THS has continued to evolve, and in 2001, THS-C, which combines THS with CVT (continuously variable transmission), was installed in the Estima Hybrid minivan and THS-M (a mild hybrid system) was installed in the Crown, luxury sedan, both for the Japanese market thereby contributing greatly to innovations in the automobiles of the 21st century.

Building on the ecology-focused THS, Toyota has developed the concept of Hybrid Synergy Drive. Based on this concept, Toyota has developed a new-generation Toyota hybrid system called THS II, which achieves high levels of compatibility between environmental performance and power by increasing the motor output by 1.5 times, greatly boosting the power supply voltage and achieving significant advances in the control system, aiming for synergy between motor power and engine power.

Toyota has positioned hybrid technology as its key technology. Beginning with the development of EVs and through the commercialization of HVs and FCHVs, its continued efforts have now culminated in the development of THS II. Toyota will continue to endeavor to make technical advances in this area.

Buying A New Car – Getting It Right

auto363 » 30 May 2009 » In New Cars » No Comments

A new car is a major expense in anyone’s language. You only have to consider that what we now spend on an average priced new car is roughly what our parents spent to buy a new house a generation ago. A five or ten percent difference in the price on a purchase of this size can prove very costly.!

So, it’s clear that a new car purchase needs to be properly thought through. It’s imperative to do your research to ensure you get a great deal. Here are a few tips to help you get that great deal!

Tip #1 … Take your time. Car dealers thrive on making you think “todays special” will be gone tomorrow. Not true. Make it obvious that you have “all the time in the world” to buy a car. That gives you the upper hand in negotiations right from the start.

Tip #2 … Do your own research. You have to know a cars real value “before” you go shopping. The internet is a wonderful resource for finding out true car values. You can find out the average retail and wholesale costs of a specific make and model. These two pieces of information are vital to assess a good deal from a dud.

Tip #3 … Leave some profit for the dealer. They need to make some money on the deal, and you want to pay a fair price. This is where knowing your values are vital. You can often negotiate a price that’s maybe only $500 above dealer cost. Any dealer would sooner sell 3 cars a day and make $500 on each than sell one per day and make $1000 on each. You have to know how far you can squeeze them.!

Tip #4 … Only pay for the options you want. You may have to wait a few weeks for delivery to get exactly what you want, at the price you want. This is much better than “getting $5000 worth of extras for only $2000″ if those accessories that are of no use to you.

Tip #5 … Go car shopping near the end of the month. Most dealerships, and their salespeople, have sales budgets to meet. They’ll be much more likely to sweeten the deals near the end of the month to make the months figures look a little better.

Tip #6 … Negotiate your trade in value seperately. Dealers will always try to cloud the figures by offering you a “cash difference” figure. This just confuses the value being given to each vehicle. Keep it simple, and settle on the new car purchase price first, then negotiate the trade-in value. That way there are no tricks, and each car has a direct value you can assess for yourself.

Tip #7 … Stick to you assessment of car values. Salespeople undergo a lot of training to enable them to convince you that they are experts and you aren’t. Research doesn’t lie, but salepeople often do. Back yourself, and walk away from any salesperson that thinks they are smarter than you, or tries to “pull the wool over your eyes”.

Tip #8 … Make sure the car has a great warranty. New cars these days are backed by some outstanding factory warranties. An extra year or two of warranty can be worth both, a lot of money and a lot of peace of mind. You never get a second chance to get a new car warranty, so go for the best you can get. Dealers with top quality cars aren’t afraid to warranty them.

Tip #9 … Ask all your questions up front – even the silly ones. Whatever you do, always read the fine print of the sales contract before signing it. If anything is unclear, ask. Contracts usually contain legal jargon, if you are in any doubt at all about what something means, ask to have it explained before you sign.

Tip #10 … Take the car for a good, long test drive. Get the feel of the car before you take it home. If you aren’t a particularly “mechanical person”, get someone who is, to come for a ride with you. Most new cars a in near perfect condition, but if yours isn’t, you want to know now, not later. The dealer wants to clinch the deal now, so they’ll fix any minor defects immediately. Make sure they do.

I’m sure if you follow these 10 simple tips, you’ll have a very pleasant new car buying experience. In short, do your research, know your stuff, and you’ll walk away with the car you want, and the deal you want.!

Tips on Buying Certified and Reliable Used Car Tips

auto363 » 29 May 2009 » In Used Car » No Comments

No doubt you have made your mind up to buy a used car, after being sick of traveling on the bus everyday, to work or college, and you want to gain your independence.  For whatever reason, you will want a car that will get you from one place to another and back again.  More than likely, the route of getting a certified reliable used car will be the route that you want to go down.

There are many benefits to looking at certified used cars, and some people are opting to choose this type of car over buying a new model. Certified cars undergo rigorous testing, checking different parts of the car, to ensure that it is sound. They will check such things as the original engine parts and if any replacement parts have been added to the car since it was first registered – they will also check the wear and tear of these parts, to ensure that the car is consistent. The main things about this type of car is that is it will be more expensive than a typical car that you would buy from a friend or independent seller; if you are unsure of the inner workings of how a car works, then this could be a good option for you.

Certified cars also carry warranties, which means that previous work carried out on them, before it has been sold to you, will be of high quality and has to pass specified inspections, making this type of car more reliable. If you are looking to finance such a car from a dealership, or leasing company, then you will also find it a little easier for them to say yes to your deal, as they will be able to see that the car is going to last and has been given a suitable rating for it to last for the foreseeable future. More so, when you buy a used car with certification, you will be able to buy the make, model and colour of car that you want without the immediate depreciating value that a new one would cost you once you have driven it off the fore-court.  When you are looking at certified cars, be sure to understand what is included and what each individual dealer believes to be checked and included in a certified used car, as some will not include certain areas of the car, whereas others will.

The main question you will want to have at the back of your mind, when you walk into a dealership then, is whether the car is actually certified and to what extent does this certification cover the car for you when you buy it. For a car to be certified it must pass a number of independent checks, the car must pass an inspection by an experienced and certified mechanic, it will need to be under 10 years old, not have more than 75,000 miles, and have been with the same owner for at least one year. However, you’ll find that many dealers will offer a 100 point inspection before selling the car to you.

When you are looking to buy a certified used car, you should remember some of the tips above and also know that you should go to a reliable dealership who has a good reputation for selling used cars.  You should make sure that the information contained within the inspection you understand from each dealership, and that you are happy that such an inspection means that you shouldn’t have too many problems with your first used car.
